A Day By The Sea

Today, my good wife and I went to the seaside, Filey to be exact. I know, it's January and it's the north of England, perhaps not the best time to visit the coast, but we love it there so much. Not only does the sea air fill your lungs with goodness, refreshing you and giving you that well deserved break from the world of work, it's also where we got engaged.

There really is something about the sea. It's inspiring (take a look at the film I made there, by the sea a couple of years ago), it provokes thoughts that perhaps wouldn't appear in your head otherwise, it has a life of it's own, flowing in, rushing out, removing the footprints from the sand and replacing them with a smooth line of beach. Much like Jesus. Not only did he describe himself as the 'living water' he also took away our sins. Much like that tide we saw today at the coast.

I hope you can take a trip to the seaside soon. Forget about the cold wind sweeping inland, ignore the sand in your shoes, go ahead and treat yourself to some fish and chips and just stare out over the waters and be at peace, knowing the living water has washed your sins away.
